Stocking Stuffer Idea

I have a serious case of christmas fever that has dawned upon me in FULL SWING.
I love giving personalized stuff as gifts
As soon as my exams are done I will be making a lot of gifts (which i will only spend a day on before I move on to bigger things like studying for my DAT) and I will hopefully be posting them up here.
Also I will post a few ideas on what to give as christmas/birthday/engagement/kids ...the whole works

Here is something I made a while ago but its TOTALLY cute and super affordable and would make a great stocking stuffer. You make tons of these for all your friends

Door Hanger
Materials you will need
1. Wooden door hanger - you can find at AC Moore or Michaels for ~ $0.99- 1.99
2. Acrylic paint - Some bottles are on sale at your local crafts store $0.99-4.99.
I used one with a metallic finish in Red.
3. Paintbrushes
4. All purpose glue
5. Ribbon
6. Glitter paint
7. Rhinestones of different sizes ~ $3.00-5.00 Depending how many are in the packet you buy
8. Finishing spray. I used a high gloss one.
Optional: Black paint pen

How to
1. Paint with two coats with base color. I used a metallic red. I used sponge brushes
2. Once dry, use a thin paintbrush to outline the door hanger with glitter paint
3. Using a paint pen (I did not), or a steady hand, write the person's name vertically along the door hanger. Feel free to use a stencil and pencil prior to the paint pen to avoid a big mess.
In essence of time I sort of just winged it and drew free hand. I used black acrylic paint and a thin paint brush
4. Place the rhinestone and use wood glue or an all purpose glue. Randomly lay the rhinestones in different sizes across the door hanger.
5. Using a thin paintbrush and white paint or a light colored pain, draw zebra print pattern alone the top of the door hanger.
6. Allow to dry over night
7. measure about 12cm of black ribbon and knot around the door hanger. use fabric glue/ a needle and thread to secure the ribbon.
8. Using fabric glue or all purpose glue, place a rhinestone on the ribbon
9. Use finishing spray (USE IT OUTSIDE)

TA-DA ALL DONE & you have a beautiful door hanger.

How to cure a burn

Hopefully you won't ever have to find yourself in this situation, however if you are in this unfortunate predicament here are some home-ish remedies to relieve your burn. Remember, these are simply for 1st degree burns and at-home-remedies. PLEASE go to the doc if your skin is falling off because you dont want secondary infections #OUCH, thankyou!

1. Egg whites
Crack open a couple eggs and remove the yolk saving only the egg whites. Slightly beat the egg white and apply to burn.

2. Calamine lotion
This is one of the essentials you should probably have handy in your medicine cabinet. Fortunately for you, if you do not, then it is available at any grocery/drug store. Other alternative of it work such as caladry and store-name brands

3. Milk.
Place milk in bowl and use cotton or washcloth to apply to burns. You may also soak burn in milk (depending on location of burn)

Fragrance Review

Favorite fragrance ATM
Just bought the set: D&G light blue set. This is seriously my new obsession. Its a really fresh smell with a sweet undertone. It is one of those fragrances that can travel wit you through the seasons.
There is currently a sale at Macys: Get the full size bottle + perfume stick+ body lotion for $95
The large bottle alone is $88. So....grab it while its gone.
IRRESISTABLE.

Product Review

So I just got both of these products from Clinique

1. The even better skin tone corrector (At Macy's for $49.95)
My first usage was yesterday, and it made my skin feel SUPER soft- like silky smooth. As per the directions on the bottle- please use an SPF. I will finish my 4 week regimen with this product and post a comparative before and after picture. So far I love it, it fully complements my hypoallergenic crazy-sensitive skin. For the price I pay, the clinique products are absolutely worth it.  Will check in again in 4 weeks. I had a bout of acne which gave me the heebie-jeebies so I am totally trying to stay on top of my skin care routine lest i'm embarking upon a delayed puberty- jeebuz wouldnt be good at all.

2. Clinique repairwear laser focus wrinkle and UV damage corrector (Macys $49.95)
It may seem slightly premature to be using anti-wrinkle and wrinkly/UV correcting products but I am such a strong believer in prevention rather than treatment in any given scenario. I'll be soon turning 23... which isn't at all about the age, but it just means for the last 23 years, I have hardly worn SPF (until fairly recently) and I am honestly deathly afraid of wrinkles. Id much rather keep them at bay for as long as humanly possible until the natural process of aging gradually descends upon me. My poor skin has had to endure years of exposure to pollution and all varying degrees of direct sun exposure. So I shall tackle it. Although I have no wrinkles as yet, I will still do a before and after for this product

This is freaking me out...

My Cosmetic Bag

Although I won't be listing EVERY SINGLE product I carry, I will show you what my favorites are, and what products are ESSENTIAL to all of my cosmetic bags

1. A great moisturizer.
Consult a dermatologist for the most appropriate kind to suit your skin type. I use Clinque Moisture Surge right before I apply foundation. I LOVE this product (and no, i'm a regular average jane and I am not being paid to endorse or promote any of these products in any way). Its a water-based formula so not greasy at all, and won't leave a gleam across your t-zone. Very versatile through all seasons- the muggy icky summer months and the dry-frigid-bonechilling winters.
All clinique products are hypo-allergenic so suitable for even the most sensitive skin types. You can find this at any department store. Approximately $33.00
2. Foundation
The multitude of products out on the market is absolutely mind-boggling especially with regards to foundation. It is imperative that you find a shade to suit your exact skin color.
Do NOT test foundation on your hand because more times than not, your face is a couple shades lighter than your sun-kissed arms. Also, don't go for something really light that will make you look like a ghost, that look ain't cute, its from like the 1800's not 2011 thankyouverymuch.
Based on your personal preference in terms of texture, find the consistency that meshes with your skin-type: you may opt for powder based foundations or cream based foundations, or any of the other janks that IDK about.
I use L'oreal true match liquid foundation. My skin color changes from summer to winter, so thats another word of advice. Switch your foundation as you become the pale-scarier-version of yourself in the winter.
3. Blush shades that transcend your look from day to night
My makeup bag consists of the following blushes
a) L'oreal true match n3 - Day time everyday look. $12-16 at your local drugstore

b) Nars Orgasm - the little sparkles give such a radiant glow. Super pigmented so a little goes a long way. Best for a night out. $25-28 at sephora or any department store

c) Clinique Fresh Bloom blush. I LOOOVE how its two shades in one. The blending effect offers great contrast and the lighter part of the blush helps highlight the apples of the cheek while the darker hue serves as a shading color to emphasize those fabulous cheek bones. The red and pink tones are both awesome- Pink for the day time and Red for the night

4. A bronzer
I use The Body Shop: Honey Bronze. Listen women, bronzers are essential. Its not cute to walk around with your face darker than your neck. Always choose a bronzer that has a little bit of shimmer in it.

5. Eyeshadow
If you are to own ONE eyeshadow palette, I highly recommend the clinique color surge eyeshadow duo. These neutrals can easily be worn for a day time look, and emphasized more for that sexy smoky eye night time look. The lighter color can be applied to the brow bone and inside of the eye. The darker color to the crease.
6. Eye liner.
I use REALLY DARK black eyeliners. Recently I switched over to using a gel-creme eyeliner from maybelline and I ABSOLUTELY am in love with it. Other's that I recommend are Mac pencil liner in engraved $16. The only problem I have with it is that it runs out really fast so i always felt like I was rushing to the Mac counter to stock up on that eyeliner. If you prefer to use Mac then remember you need a really good pencil sharpner because you will be doing a lot of eye pencil sharpening
The Maybelline eye studio lasting dramatic gel eyeliner in BLACKEST BLACK is FANTABULOUS!!!!!!!!! Lorvve it

7. Mascara.
My top two picks for mascara are:
a) Clinique High Impact mascara in black
b) L'oreal voluminous mascara in Carbon
Stay tuned for an upcoming makeup tutorial ;)

Now this is what I call talent
